The Art of Rose Beitzell
Wood forms the canvas of Rose Beitzell's beautifully detailed barb of a birds' feather is incised into the wood with a hot filament that serves as the pen in pyrography. The eyes are formed and rounded to give a delicate three-dimensional look. Several layers of translucent pigmented washes give the final piece a shimmering realism so that you almost expect the bird to hop out of the picture and on to your hand.
Rose is also an accomplished painter and is exhibiting a range of
works from plein-air landscapes to abstracts.
